ERASMUS + (2014-2020)
Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. It runs for seven years, and operates on the basis of calls for projects that are launched throughout the duration of the program.
Erasmus+ is open to education, training, youth and sport organisations. Through Erasmus+, organisations can collaborate to drive innovation, share best practices, and offer new opportunities to young people.
Organisations participating in Erasmus+ may engage in a number of development and networking activities, including strategic improvement of the professional skills of their staff, organizational capacity building, and the creation of transnational cooperative partnerships with organisations from other countries in order to produce innovative outputs or exchange.
For the period 2014-2020, the aim of Erasmus+ was to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for growth, jobs, social equity and inclusion, as well as to the achievement of the objectives of the « Education and Training 2020 » Strategic Framework.
Key Action 2 « Strategic Partnerships »
The activities developed under this Key Action are expected to contribute significantly to the priorities of the programme and to bring positive and long-lasting effects on the participating organisations and on the persons directly or indirectly involved in the activities.
This Key Action is expected to result in the development, transfer and/or implementation of innovative practices at organizational, local, regional, national or European levels.
"ireams": a "strategic partnership" to develop resources and share practices for the reasoned inclusion of children and young persons with autism in a school environment
State of the art and design of a new approach
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) have great difficulty integrating into both social and academic activities. Unfortunately, most current methods use identical protocols for all young people. Based on the experiences of the institutions in our network, as well as the families, we have implemented a practice that supports the specificities of each young person, taking into account their own interests. It is a work that, in each case, requires the sharing of knowledge in order to constitute a useful know-how. This orientation, which is a little more complex to implement, proves to be more interesting for young people and more efficient for social action and learning opportunities.
Sharing knowledge and building a network
On the occasion of a European seminar in 2018, a network of actors engaged for years in the support of children and young people with autism spectrum disorders has gradually been structured, with the aim of facilitating a real sharing of knowledge and practices. These actors are :
- professionals from specialized institutions
- associations of families
- young people with autism who can contribute
- researchers in psychology and education sciences
Contributing countries: France, Spain, Italy, Belgium et Bulgaria
Objectives and Productions
The project consists in building from returns on experiences a MANUAL for education professionals dealing with children and young people with autism spectrum disorders. This action will be completed by a FILM and the establishment of an appropriate scientific framework. Finally, a BOOK summarizing the conclusions of this project will be produced. Thus, a new impetus, taking more into account the wishes and possibilities of young autistic people, should allow them to participate in the life of our societies and to find a place in the school institution.
